Betting Rules

1. General Rules

Lotto8 settles every betting market in accordance with the official result declared by the relevant sporting or event governing body, or by an official source recognised by Lotto8. Bets placed after the publication of the outcome or after an official decision affecting the result may be void. If a market is not decided before the end of normal playing time, Lotto8 will settle the market on the basis of the regular duration unless the market description specifies otherwise. Markets that are subject to additional periods, such as overtime or shootouts, are settled in accordance with the market description unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  • Player specials are excluded from the general rule set described above.
  • If an event does not commence on its scheduled start time or is postponed, Lotto8 may keep bets open if the kickoff occurs within 48 hours of the official start time. If kickoff occurs outside this window, bets on that event may be voided and stakes refunded.
  • For two-leg events, if one leg is postponed or abandoned, only bets placed in the postponed leg are affected; bets in other legs remain subject to the relevant settlement rules.
  • Outright markets (short-term and long-term) are subject to the Play-or-Pay rule. Bets on participants stand even if the listed participant cannot take part, with head-to-head markets treated as void if an listed participant does not participate. If a replacement participant joins the same team, team markets stand while individual markets may be void.
  • Tennis-specific scenarios: if a player retires or is disqualified, markets determined at the pitch may be settled while undecided markets are void or reapportioned per market rules. If a retirement occurs before the final point, the match winner market is void unless otherwise stated; related set or game markets that have already deterministically concluded remain valid.
  • For US-style competitions (e.g., baseball, basketball, and American football), the settlement of non-decided bets will depend on event progression and league-specific thresholds as described in the market description; in some cases, later postponements or resumptions do not automatically validate prior bets.

2. Market Settlement and Adjustments

Lotto8 uses official results as the primary basis for settlement. In the absence of an official source, Lotto8 may rely on independent verification or internal statistics if necessary. Lotto8 reserves the right to modify, adjust, or reverse settlements if an official result differs from the result used at the time of bet acceptance, or if an event is declared void, suspended, or annulled by the governing body.

  • Lotto8 may accept, limit, or reject bets prior to confirmation. Bets placed after a detected pricing or wording error (palpable error) may be voided or adjusted at Lotto8’s sole discretion.
  • In the event of a technical or system fault, Lotto8 may reverse settled markets or void affected bets. Affected balances may be adjusted to reflect such changes.
  • Insufficient funds at the time of bet placement may result in voiding of the bet. If a deposit is reversed by the payment processor, Lotto8 may cancel retrogate bets.
  • Venue changes and radical changes to event circumstances (e.g., duration, distance, or number of periods) may lead to cancellation of related bets.

3. Event Modifications and Postponements

If an event is cancelled, void, or postponed, Lotto8 reserves the right to void or settle bets in accordance with the market description and official guidance. Where an event is resumed or completed within the period specified by Lotto8, bets on markets that remain valid shall be settled accordingly. If the event is abandoned and not resumed within the prescribed window, settlements shall be based on the available result at the time of abandonment.

  • Abandonment or stoppage for reasons such as crowd issues, safety concerns, or force majeure generally leads to voiding undecided bets unless the market has already become decided prior to abandonment.
  • Where inter-event changes occur (e.g., a change of venue) Lotto8 may cancel all bets on the affected event.

4. VAR and Referee Decisions

Where a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decision alters the information available at the time of bet placement, bets placed between the original incident and the final VAR decision may be voided unless the change does not affect the odds of the specific bet offer. Bets on unrelated offers that are not impacted by the VAR decision shall stand. Lotto8 may reverse settlements if the final official decision differs from the outcome used at bet acceptance, provided the decision is communicated before the conclusion of the match.

5. Odds Presentation and Settlement Window

Odds displayed to customers are presented to two decimal places. Total odds are calculated using a sixth-decimal precision, while the total winnings are truncated to two decimal places. Any discrepancy observed results from standard rounding rules. The maximum period between initial settlement and potential re-settlement of a betslip is 30 days.

6. Formats, Live and Prematch Bets

Lotto8 supports prematch and live bet formats as follows: 2x25, 2x30, 2x35, 2x40, 2x45, and 3x30. If a match duration falls outside the range of 50 to 90 minutes, all markets for that event are void. For the 3x30 format, halftime duration is calculated as total match duration divided by two. Lotto8 does not assume responsibility for unanticipated format changes; such risk is borne by the customer during registration and consent to the terms.

7. Outright Markets and Play-or-Pay

Outright markets (short-term and long-term) operate under a Play-or-Pay rule: bets on listed participants stand even if a listed participant cannot participate for any reason. Head-to-head (H2H) markets are excluded from this treatment; if a listed participant is replaced by another participant from the same team, team-based markets survive, while individual-market bets on the replaced participant may be void.

8. Scorers and Specific Bet Types

First goalscorer, last goalscorer, and anytime goalscorer bets apply to regular time unless otherwise stated. Own goals, as determined by official authority, are treated as non-scorers where applicable. If a player never features, corresponding scorer bets are void. If a match is abandoned after a scorer has occurred, bets on the first scorer remain valid and bets on the last scorer may be void.

9. Parlay Bets, Bet Builder, and Multiple Bets

Lotto8 does not permit multiple bets within the same event to affect each other unless a Bet Builder feature is used. Bets placed in violation of this rule may be cancelled, even after a result has been determined.

10. Dead Heat Rules

In events resulting in a dead heat, winnings and losses are shared among successful contracts in proportion to the number of winners. In multi-winner markets, only contracts tied beyond the last winning position are affected. If the first and second positions are both shared, the distribution follows the standard pro rata approach for the remaining places.

11. Disputes, Claims and Customer Remedies

Customer claims regarding bets must be submitted within seven days of the event’s original start time. Complaints should be directed to Lotto8 support channels. If a claim is not raised within the period, it may be denied. Lotto8 will provide a written response with the outcome of the review following receipt of the claim.
